The Garden State Cat Club was established in 1936 and affiliated with the Cat Fanciers Association, Inc. Garden State is one of the oldest and most prestigious cat clubs in the country. With an inclusive membership of more than 80, it is also one of the largest. The clubs annual show is consistently one of the countrys largest from the standpoint of both total entries and champion class entries. The club has been particularly active in introducing new formats and educational features. In addition to the annual Garden State show, special benefits shows in support of CFA functions are often staged, generally under the name of Morris & Essex, Garden States affiliated club.
